Carers Events At The Carer Clubhouse
The Carer Centre Clubhouse full range of clubs, courses, groups and events which are free to Carers who are registered with us.
The Carer Clubhouse is situated at Fishwick House, Cotham Street, WA10 1SJ and can be found opposite from St Helens Town Hall.

Many of our events need a pre booking, if this is the case you can book on by pressing the button below each event and we will confirm your place within a few days. Sometimes we have last minute cancellations, so you can always telephone us on the day to see if there is a place available.
Crocheting for people who want to but have never been able to crochet. Don’t worry if you have never done this before as these 4 sessions are for beginners wanting to learn. Have a cuppa with other Carers whilst learning a new craft. This is being run by one of our own talented Carers Carolyn.
Come along and join Nicola our talented tutor in making some Easter Book Binding gifts. All materials supplied by The Clubhouse and no previous experience is needed, you will be surprised at what you can take home under the supervision Nicola and her assistant Sue.
FOR REGISTERED YOUNG ADULT CARERS (AGED 18-25)
No booking required. Drop in session to come and have fun with other Young Adult Carers, get creative with cake decorating, play some pool and pacman or come and chill!
Come along and join us at Carole's Budget Bingo. These sessions are hilarious and a chance for you to have some fun with other Carers. This is a free event however extremely popular so you must book in advance.

Whether you are a fully fledged player or an absolute beginner, guitar, ukulele, banjo or whatever. This group is for you. Its a relaxed Friday mid afternoon group, with a cuppa, and sounds! All carers welcome to this friendly group which meets weekly.
This 4-week course aims to support Carers of those with severe, long term mental health conditions to understand and develop relationships to support their caring role. It focuses on increasing the understanding and developing of positive support strategies as well as recognising their needs and supporting their own wellbeing as Carers.
Come along and be as competitive as you like with other Carers whether it’s a game of pool, table tennis, a selection of board games or even go back in time for a game of Pacman. Just come along and enjoy some relaxation time with other Carers.

These friendly sessions allow you to make contacts with other Carers and relax for an hour or two and have a cuppa and toast and a laugh. No need to book, just drop in anytime between 10am and 12 noon.
Come along to our monthly Carers Quiz Evening, its fun and free and we even serve free hot dogs and a chance to win prizes. Dont worry, we will team you up with other Carers... its all about the fun and the mixing together. You MUST book in advance to attend.
An introduction to Tai-Chi with a practical demonstration from our Qualified Tutor, Heather. This can be done either sitting or standing and will end with a warm down. Casual clothing should be worn for this session.
These sessions take place on the last Thursday of the month from 10am-12noon. Come along and find out more about services that can support you and your family. The sessions are informal and a great opportunity for you to meet other Parent Carers.

Would you know what to do if someone stopped breathing, had a stroke, or began to choke? Would you know how to use a defibrillator? This short interactive fun workshop shows you what to do in various emergency situations. This course shouldn’t be missed as you could save someone life. The training is delivered by Carmel who is a qualified member of The Red Cross. Comfortable and loose clothing is recommended for this session.
Come along and learn how oils can holistically help you to relax and unwind, much needed for our Carers and promote your wellbeing. This session is delivered by Kate one of our qualified Therapists.

All the materials you need are provided by us and you will have your own finished Wreath to take home at the end of the session. Time permitted you may get chance to make an Easter Bunny too. If you are supporting someone with memory loss, our friendly and informal group is a chance for you to speak with other carers over a tea/coffee and to share their caring role experiences in a supportive environment

Create your own Jewellery with the help of our Tutor, Doris. You will be shown how to make your very own personalised item which you can then take home with you. No skills are required for this session just come along and enjoy a cuppa with other Carers.

Are you a parent carer worried about your child/ young person’s transition to a new school/ educational setting? Are you hoping their teachers fully understand their strengths, areas of difficulty and what is important to them?
Come along to our friendly session, make contact with other parent carers and share experiences to support each other. We will look at and discuss useful Person Centered Planning tools to identify what is important to and for your child/ young person. We will discuss the use of ‘A good day / bad day’ resource to identify triggers and solutions, identifying any strengths and difficulties to be later included in a ‘One Page Profile’ which can be shared with school and other professionals involved.
We will also look at and discuss useful tips and visual supports to prepare your child for transition.
